HW Pick: Maxwell Takes You Hostage At NYCB Live (Video)

May 25, 2017

SJ Presents Inc., presents multi Grammy Award winner singer & songwriter Maxwell to perform at the new NYCB Live, Home of the Nassau Veterans Coliseum in Uniondale, NY on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 8pm with special guest Ledisi. Maxwell has artfully managed to transfix music lovers for more than two decades, releasing 4 studio albums, all in his own time – all duly anointed as classics. Now, the Brooklyn-born soul legend returns with his 5th album, BlackSUMMERS’night, the long awaited second installment of his trailblazing trilogy, a powerful reminder that great music really is about more than moving the twitter needles.

This performance will be part of Maxwell’s upcoming headlining U.S. tour this summer, which kicks off in May.

Maxwell will be entertaining concertgoers with past-hits as well as songs off his most recent blackSUMMERS’night album, the second installment of his musical trilogy encompassing the singer’s 20+ year career. The album itself has garnered praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, SPIN, Complex, and NPR, as well as earning the musician his third Grammy (Best R&B Song for “Lake By The Ocean”), an NAACP Image Award (Outstanding Male Artist), and a Soul Train Award (Best R&B/Soul Male Artist).

Adding to the excitement, music-streaming service TIDAL has just exclusively debuted the Philip Andelman-directed music video for “Gods,” a single from BlackSUMMERS’night.
