Face2face Africa, the premier pan-African media company, will launch its three-day annual Pan-African Weekend (F2FA) in New York City on July 25-27. Face2face Africa (F2FA) is a fast-growing media group that is re-branding Africa and fostering a technologically interconnected generation of people worldwide who have a shared-ancestry and interest in Africa. F2FA Weekend is an extension of Face2face Africa’s annualF.A.C.E. List Awards, where notable individuals who have made a tremendous impact on the pan-African community are recognized for their achievements.
The Weekend kicks off on Friday, July 25, with the Young Africans Committed to Excellence (YACE) Generation NeXt Master Class, where some of Africa’s brightest and most promising young visionaries will be honored with this year’s YACE Award. Moderated by Forbes reporter and Farai media founder, Farai Gundan, the finalists will present on a topic pertaining to their scope of work, and share their inspirational journey to success as well as their vision for Africa. Following the Master Class, attendees, professionals, and business leaders will network and mingle at a professional networking mixer.
On Saturday, July 26, the F.A.C.E. List, a preeminent pan-African achievement awards, will take place at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts at New York University. Business mogul Dr. Mo Ibrahim, fashion icon Alek Wek, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, Afrobeat singer Femi Kuti, entrepreneur Bethlehem Alemu and general manager of the NBA’s Toronto Raptors Masai Ujiri will be honored for their outstanding contributions and impact on the African continent. The dazzling star-studded Red Carpet affair, hosted by award winning Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh and Sandra Appiah, host of The SA Show, will feature spectacular performances and acts from some of Africa’s burgeoning entertainers.
On Sunday, July 27, a Jazz Brunch will close out The Weekend festivities. The brunch will provide an opportunity for intimate interaction with honorees, speakers, special guests and the producers and host committee of the weekend.
