In commemoration of the 237th anniversary of the Revolutionary War’s Battle of Fort Washington, members of the Brigade of the American Revolution will set up camp on Fort Tryon Park’s Cafe Lawn.
Visitors will travel back in time and see demonstrations of how the Continental Army functioned during America’s War for Independence.
There will be arts and crafts for kids, compliments of the Fort Tryon Park Trust and the Morris Jumel Mansion. Revolutionary War Heroine Margaret Corbin will be giving tours of the battle area. In addition, a blacksmith will demonstrate his craft and local historian James Renner will display historic photographs and maps. Dress up in your finest colonial clothes to enter our costume contest and win great prizes. There will be two categories: most authentic and most creative.
Come and reconnect to Fort Tryon Park’s revolutionary war history.
Sunday, November 17, 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
