The amazing André Holland stars in the upcoming Steven Soderbergh for Cinemax show “The Knick”. Holland recently wrapped production on Paramount Picture’s “Selma”. Prior to that he finished “Black & White” in which he starred opposite Kevin Costner. Holland’s recent stage credits include “All’s Well That Ends Well” and “Measure for Measure” at the Public Theatre’s Shakespeare in the Park, and “The Whipping Man” at the Manhattan Theatre Club. His additional stage credits include “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone” at the Belasco Theatre, “The Brother/Sister Plays” at the Public Theatre, “Wig Out” at the Vineyard Theatre in addition to “Tempest Tossed” and “Romeo and Juliet” with the Continuum Company. He also starred in “Much Ado About Nothing” and “As You Like It” with the Public Theatre’s Shakespeare in the Park.
Last year André starred as Wendell Smith opposite Harrison Ford in the hit film “42”. His other film credits include “Bride Wars,” Spike Lee’s “Miracle at St. Anna,” and “Sugar.” Among his television credits are “1600 Penn”, “Damages,” “Burn Notice,” NBC’s “Friends with Benefits,” “Law & Order,” and “The Black Donnellys.”
He currently resides in New York City.
