Hunter For Target Is Here From East Harlem To Hollywood

April 14, 2018

Refinery 29 reports that it’s been a while since we heard anything from Target especially since its store is right there in East Harlem.

Since announcing its four new fashion-y brands, and the launch of Universal Thread earlier this year, which offers a full size range at budget-friendly prices, it seemed as if the retailer was content to let us spend our money (and time!) fast in its locations for the time being. But little did we know Target had something major planned.

Last month, Target announced a partnership with Hunter, designed to outfit the entire family in new exclusive versions of the brand’s rain boots, raincoats, and backpacks. Beyond style and apparel, the collaboration will also be the first time the British label will be making items for your home, too, like hammocks, sunshades, and coolers. Most of the items will be priced under $30.

“For this collaboration, we wanted to pair Hunter’s great heritage and iconic style with Target’s ‘Expect More. Pay Less.’ design capabilities,” Mark Tritton, Target’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, said in a press release. “Hunter and Target worked hand-in-hand to create a colorful assortment of all-weather wear for the entire family – one that will protect them from the elements no matter where they are or what they’re doing, all for a fantastic price.”

As for what the pieces will look like, expect festival-inspired goods. Hunter’s creative director, Alasdhair Willis names Kate Moss in Hunter boots at Glastonbury in 2005 as turning point for the brand. “Our boots, outerwear, and backpacks are now worn at festivals across the globe, come rain or shine,” Willis said in a press release.

“Recognizing our shared spirit of adventure, getting outdoors and appeal to the whole family, we wanted to create a collection that celebrates that, whether that be a summer gathering in the backyard, weekends away, or at a music festival.”

Hunter for Target is available now in select Target stores and on Target.com (a perfect time to utilize same-day shipping, to be honest). What’s that saying? April showers bring…a new Target collaboration?
