BRAG, the preeminent fashion and retail organization supporting BIPOC students and professionals, held its first benefit gala since COVID-19, on Thursday, October 10th, 2024.
The event, presided over by Harlemite and BRAG President Nicole Cokley-Dunlap, attracted more than 100 glamorous attendees including the evening’s honorees FIT president Dr. Joyce F. Brown, (originally from Harlem), Saks’ Jamillah Davis Hernandez and executive Matthew Heller – accepting for luxury brand Loewe.
For almost 20 years, BRAG (the Black Retail Action Group) has held its fall fundraiser to award students scholarships to help them through school. This year’s affair took place at FIT, Fashion Institute of Technology and afforded professionals the chance network with each other. Other VIP guests included designers b Michael and Fe Noel; H. Carl McCall, retail exec. Shawn Outler and model-influencer Kela Walker.
