Two Harlem men were shot trying to protect their home from the armed suspects, police said. The intruders knocked on the door of an apartment at West 115th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard at 7:15 p.m EST. Thursday and tried to force their way in, NYPD said. The residents, ages 49 and 59, resisted, and one of the suspects began firing. The 59-year-old victim was shot in the arm, and a bullet fragment struck the 49-year-old man in the head, police said. The older victim was treated at St. Luke’s Hospital and released, while the younger man was in stable condition there.
