More and more companies are supporting small businesses with grants, tax deferments, ad credits, free legal service programs in and out of Harlem.
The Harlem Business Alliance (HBA) has put together a list of more grants and resources that are on the market for Small Businesses.
Here’s the list:
Company-based grants
- Shea Moisture is offering three separate programs totaling $1M to businesses supporting communities through COVID-19 and Black-owned businesses facing COVID-related hardship, as well as an E-Lab (with a potential funding opportunity) for women of color entrepreneurs. – https://www.sheamoisturefund.com/

- Google is offering $340 million in advertising grants for small and medium-sized businesses, a credit that will be added automatically to Google Ads accounts. – https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/9803410?hl=en
- Deferral of Employer Payroll Taxes -The CARES Act provides that employers and self-employed individuals may defer payment of the employer share of payroll taxes owed on wages paid for the period ending December 31, 2020. - GoFundMe has partnered with Intuit QuickBooks, Yelp, GoDaddy, and Bill.com to give small businesses a $500 grant if they raise at least $500 on GoFundMe. – https://www.gofundme.com/f/smallbusinessrelieffund

- The Council of Fashion Designers of America and Vogue are offering grants of up to $100,000 for fashion industry businesses that are at least two years old, employ no more than 30 people, and generate less than $10 million in revenue a year.
