Harlem’s St. John The Divine Cathedral Marks Ash Wednesday

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine will hold in-person Ash Wednesday services on February 14th at 12:15 pm and 7:30 pm at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street) in Harlem, NY.

Ashes will be available outside on the Cathedral’s West Front Stairs from 6:30 am – 12 pm and 1 pm – 4:30 pm EST.

The 7:30 pm service will be presided over by The Reverend Canon Steven Lee, Vicar, with a sermon by The Very Reverend Patrick Malloy, Dean of the Cathedral.

Both services will feature the Cathedral Choirs, and the 7:30 pm service will be streamed online. Additionally, there will be a gathering titled “Love Never Ends” in the Columbarium at 6pm, exploring the intersection of Ash Wednesday and Valentine’s Day.

All are welcome to attend the services or receive ashes from Cathedral clergy throughout the day.
