In a new episode of The HWM Podcast, the scholar and consultant, Kim Taylor Thompson, graced the airwaves alongside Harlem World Magazine’s Founder and Publisher, and host Danny Tisdale.
Their conversation, shed light on some great subjects aright from our headlines, from Kim Taylor Thompson’s legendary father, the late Dr. Billy Taylor, to the ascension of Harlem’s newly elected city council member, Yusef Salaam. And delved into the political acumen of the venerable Harlem native, Keith Wright. However, the discussion didn’t stop there, as they took a moment to explore Kim’s sanctuary of serenity amidst the vibrant streets of Harlem and much more. And her book, “Progressive Prosecution: Race and Reform in Criminal Justice” co-authored with her husband, Anthony Thompson, Kim Taylor Thompson, and much more.
Kim Taylor-Thompson
Kim Taylor-Thompson grew up right here in the famous Riverton Houses in Harlem. Her father was world-renowned jazz musician/ambassador Dr. Billy Taylor. She is an educator teaching criminal law and community and criminal defense, with a focus on the impact of race and gender on public policy—particularly criminal and juvenile justice policy. She has won numerous awards, she is a consultant for several Fortune 500 companies and government organizations. Taylor-Thompson received her JD from Yale Law School and her BA from Brown University.
