Harlem World Magazine President CC Minton kicked off the holiday season attending the Mission Society of New York City and the Historical Society of Palm Beach County (HSPBC) cocktail parties.
The philanthropic events were hosted by socialite and Lady of Philanthropy, Jean Shafiroff. Both events took place at her New York City home in November 2024.
In attendance at the Harlem-based 200-year-old organization’s supporter event were Michael Spinks, Flo Anthony, Carmen D’Alessio, Helen Shelton, Susan Gutfreund, Fern Malis, Regina Kravitz, CC Minton and many, many more. Sarah J. Wenten, Jeremy Johnson, and Taylor Matero from Palm Beach County attended the HSPBC event.
Committed to spreading the message that Harlem World Magazine cares about the community, Ms. Minton lent a helping hand, across the Hudson, to the Junior League of the Oranges Short Hills in support of children and their families during the Thanksgiving holiday. “I’ve been a part of the philanthropic world for over 20 years and have learned that we all have something to give. Whether it be our time, money, or our hearts, it can all be put to good use. Harlem World Magazine cares about the arts, community and the environment.” says Minton In October 2024, Ms. Minton hosted the first HWM Harlem Nights, a jazzy event, that also took place across the Hudson at Clement’s Place in downtown Newark.
Out for her first holiday season in 2023, Ms. Minton attended a number of philanthropic events including a cocktail party at the home of Jacqueline Weld Drake, Chairman of Casita Maria Fiesta. The oldest Latin charity in New York City. Among the distinguished guests were board members Martha Bograd, George Corton, Sissi Fleitas, Michele Gerber Klein, Alberto Mariaca, as well as Steven Aronson, Beth Rudin DeWoody, Mercedes Levin, Alicia Lubowski-Jahn, Liz and Jeff Peek, Marc Rosen, and Sabrina Wirth.
