Harlem Senator Benjamin And Community Groups “Protect Your Block” To Disrupt Violence

August 21, 2020

Tomorrow, in response to a rise in gun violence across the city, Senator Brian Benjamin and a broad coalition of community-based groups will gather for “Protect Your Block” to disrupt violence.

“Protect Your Block” is a community-led initiative where people engage in good neighbor policies and partner with Community-Based Organizations (CBO) to protect our health and safety.

Organizers of local events receive support from recognized community-based organizations, which helps eliminate unwanted negative interactions with law enforcement. In an effort to maintain safety and health, organizers agree to work to be careful, thoughtful, responsible, considerate, and accountable.
