Harlem Restaurant Features The Taste of the Islands During Caribbean Week

Exterior-of-LoLos and moreLoLo’s Seafood Shack of Harlem has partnered with the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) in honor of Caribbean Week New York, an annual celebration of the region’s sights, sounds and culinary excellence.

During Caribbean Week New York (June 1 – 4), LoLo’s Seafood Shack, a Caribbean and Cape Cod Mashup located at 303 W. 116th St. in Harlem, will offer a $30 prix fixe menu featuring a wide variety of Caribbean classics. As part of this special Caribbean Week menu, patrons will indulge in three courses including a snack, sandwich and seafood steampot of their choosing.

The snack options are Smoked Wings, Belizean Conch Fritters and Jerk Ribs, and the sandwiches are Crispy “Shark” + Bake or Avocado Toast served on homemade Johnnycakes. Guests can indulge in a Peel + Eat Shrimp or Crawfish Steampot, with the option to supplement one pound of Snow Crab Legs for an additional $10.

As an added bonus, the restaurant will feature specialty menu items including a Snow Crab Leg and Shrimp Steampot with Coco Curry Sauce, Soft Shell Crab Sandwich served on a crispy Johnnycake and LoLo’s Lobster Roll, which is also served on a crispy Johnnycake.

For those looking to savor traditional Caribbean dishes with a modern twist, LoLo’s Seafood Shack, is open Tuesday through Thursday from 4 – 9:45 p.m., 12 – 9:45 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and Sunday from 12 – 8:45 p.m. No reservations are needed as the restaurant is fast-casual, providing visitors with counter service. Customers can eat indoors or outdoors in a shack-style, picnic table eating area.

Organized by the CTO, Caribbean Week New York is the largest, most engaging regional tourism activity in the “Big Apple” and typically attracts thousands of participants, including Caribbean tourism officials, the media, artists, performers, celebrity chefs, fashion designers, models, investors and other strategic partners. It showcases the sights, sounds, colours, culture and unique holiday experiences of the Caribbean and combines business sessions and consumer-oriented events with food, fashion, entertainment, sales and networking opportunities.
