Today, Congressman Adriano Espaillat released the following statement in recognition of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.
“Each year during the month of May, we come together to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, a time to recognize the immense contributions that Asian American and Pacific Islander communities have made to our nation. This month reminds us that while our diversity strengthens us as a nation, there is still much work to be done in order to ensure that we protect the civil and constitutional rights of AAPIs and all Americans.
“I am proud to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and will continue to defend the critical issues impacting AAPIs, from immigration to civil rights, to ensure that all Americans have access to the opportunities that they rightfully deserve.”
