Harlem Representative Adriano Espaillat was featured as the keynote speaker during the latest forum held by The Atlantic Council’s nonpartisan Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center (AALAC).
“… why Latin America and the Caribbean matter for the world.”
The Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center aims to broaden understanding of regional transformations while demonstrating why Latin America and the Caribbean matter for the world.
During his remarks, Rep. Espaillat discussed his key legislative engagement, including the Americas Act (H.R. 7571 ), a transformative bipartisan effort aimed at expanding trade between the U.S. and our Western Hemisphere partners; and the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative (CBSI, H.R. 1802 ), a critical U.S. program that helps Caribbean nations combat drug trafficking, transnational crime, and corruption, with a focus on improving regional security.
“… the importance of strengthening … trade and economic development …”
Rep. Espaillat also reiterated the importance of strengthening the trajectory of trade and economic development between the United States, Latin America and throughout the Caribbean.
“I am deeply appreciative for the opportunity to join The Atlantic Council to discuss nearshoring and other results-oriented solutions for a more prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable future between the U.S. and Latin America,” said Espaillat.
