Harlem Multicultural Day At Northside Center for Child Development Day School

March 26, 2017

On Wednesday, March 22, 2017, the Northside Center for Child Development Day School in Harlem hosted its annual Multicultural Day celebration. Northside Center is a local non-profit that provides early childhood education, behavioral health and enrichment services to low income New York City children and their families for over 70 years. During the day’s festivities, parents watched their children sing songs and dance in celebration of nations from across the world, including the Dominican Republic, and countries throughout Europe and Asia. Northside Center parents and students celebrating Multicultural Day enjoyed a multicultural lunch with everything from lasagna to empanadas. Attendees also received stylish thermal wear, donated by Cuddl Duds, a more than 100-year-old clothing company in New York.

“The Northside Center was founded on the belief that diversity makes us stronger,” said Dr. Thelma Dye, Executive Director of the Northside Center. “By celebrating the diverse cultures and backgrounds of our community, we hope to help all students feel special and part of one global family.”
