Harlem Meets Brixton: A Groundbreaking Partnership Harlem Brewing

August 27, 2024

Last month, Harlem Brewery announced a pioneering collaboration with Supercute Brewery, the newly opened Brixton-based community favorite.

This transatlantic partnership brought the iconic taste of Harlem to the UK, with a dedicated Harlem Brewing taproom at 5 Market Row, Brixton Village.

Black Is Beautiful Vol. 2: A Brew with a Mission

Celeste Beatty, the first African American woman brewer to launch a commercially distributed craft beer, is set to introduce Black Is Beautiful Vol. 2 at the Harlem Brewing Taproom starting Thursday, August 15th, 2024.

This initiative, one of the most significant social campaigns in the alcohol industry, supports the National Black Brewers Association’s (NB2A) efforts to develop and grow Black brewers globally.

Supporting Diversity, One Pint at a Time

Every participating brewery, including Harlem Brewing Taproom, pledges to donate $1 per beer sold to the NB2A. Celeste Beatty, founder of Harlem Brewery, says, “Raising our glasses to Black is Beautiful Vol. 2 Hazy IPA, Cheers to unity in diversity, poured one pint at a time.”

A Fusion of Cultures: Harlem Spirit in Brixton

The new Harlem Brewing Taproom, a collaboration with Supercute Brewery, is designed to evoke the energy and rich history of Harlem.

Featuring work by renowned Harlem artists and Brixton architects Squire & Partners, the space boasts a bold color palette inspired by Harlem’s iconic landmarks and street art.

More Than Just Beer: Celebrating Cultural Legacy

With a curated selection of music celebrating Harlem’s musical heritage, the taproom creates a dynamic atmosphere where guests can experience the soul of Harlem in Brixton. Hammant Patel Villa, founder of Supercute Brewery, adds, “Supercute is proud to be included in the brewing of ‘Black is Beautiful Vol. 2’ as it sings a bittersweet melody of hope and harmony, a liquid ode to the dreams we dare to brew.”This collaboration not only brings unique flavors to Brixton but also serves as a powerful statement of unity and celebration of Black culture across the Atlantic.
