Harlemite and Actor Mekhi Phifer of Paid In Full and 8 Mile fame has filed for bankruptcy, citing nearly $1.3 million in debt.
The former ER star claims just $67,701 in assets (claiming $67,000 in assets, including a leather bed and 12-year-old Segway) and monthly income of $7,500, compared to monthly expenses of $11,500, according to court papers that were filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court on April 22, 2014.
The court documents indicate that the 39-year-old actor — who most recently appeared in the film Divergent and the Showtime series House of Lies — had accumulated about $1.2 million in back taxes, $50,000 in lawyer fees and $4,500 in back child support.
