Police are looking for a man who escaped custody Saturday after he allegedly shoplifted at a Duane Reade in East Harlem.
The man, who police were not able to identify before he escaped was arrested for shoplifting at the store. He was handcuffed and was placed in a police car on East 102nd Street near Madison Avenue, police said.
With his hands handcuffed to his back, he fled the car, running eastbound on East 102nd Street.
Surveillance video showed the man inside and leaving Duane Reade just before he was arrested.
He was last seen wearing an olive green jacket, green hoodie, gray sweatpants and a black V-neck shirt, police said.
