We did not know that in 1906 there was a Grant’s Tomb Observational Automobile Bus that drove tourists around the Tomb at 121st Street and Riverside Drive in West Harlem, NY.
We’re not sure if it’s a car, a bus, and/or a truck, but it sure is a tourist vehicle much like the Red Double Decker buses that drive tourists through Harlem today. It’s very interesting that this new travel automation is giving us a window into the history of tourism and transportation already at the beginning of the 20th century.
Looks like you could take it in the water if you wanted too (source)..
