Goya Executive Chef Fernando Desa Representatives from The Salvation Army Greater NY Division and Harlem Corps in Harlem, NY.
Goya Foods, largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States, will donate more than 10,000 pounds of its products to The Salvation Army Greater New York Harlem Corps soup kitchens located in East Harlem and Central Harlem.
These soup kitchens have experienced an increased demand for food recently and are running low on many needed pantry items so this donation of Goya products such as spices, oil, tomato paste, sauces, rice, beans, etc. comes at a perfect time.
The Salvation Army GNY Division can provide b-roll of this donation of food being picked up at Goya and brought to the Corps.
Separately, Goya will host a holiday luncheon to area NYC/Harlem residents at The Salvation Army Harlem Temple Corps Community Center for the holiday season.
Goya Executive Chef Fernando Desa will prepare and serve hot meals to 300 residents including roast pork, chicken fricassee, rice & beans, maduros, green salad and potato salad. Residents will also be provided with bags of a variety of Goya products and some prepared meals to take home.
This donation is part of the company’s #GoyaGives program and Goya’s holiday giving donation of over 250,000 pounds of food.
