Cuomo spent Monday at a popular snowmobiling spot in New York’s North Country to ride a sled and promote winter tourism.

The governor and other state officials visited the Ridgeview in the Lewis County town of Lowville, 60 miles northeast of Syracuse.

Lewis County contains part of the Tug Hill Plateau, a region popular with snowmobilers from across New York and nearby states. It’s typically New York’s snowiest area, and snowmobile trails are a major part of the local economy.

New York officials estimate visitors to the state increased by 8.8 million this year, up 4 percent, spending billions of dollars.
