Do not be distracted.
Forbid the thief from entering in.
That thief.
He watches, and he waits.
He sees, and wants.
He bides his time.
Get busy, he says.
Keep going, he coaxes.
Don’t try to rest, you’ll lose time, he urges.
He wants you to be
Too tired to think.
Too bothered to be ordered,
Too fast to be patient.
That’s when he starts to win.
Hurry! Hurry! Faster! More!
Run, don’t walk!!
He pushes you to the brink,
Lets you drink
When you should eat,
Tells you not to think.
Makes you feast
When you should fast –
Mixes up everything!
He knows, he knows,
Once disorder comes
He will have a blast.
Possess your own past.
He can steal everything,
So don’t be distracted.
Forbid the thief from entering in.
