Food Bank Collects Diaper Drive Donations At Borough President Brewer’s West Harlem office

December 28, 2016

Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer’s and Food Bank For New York City diaper drive is an unusual addition to the city’s many holiday season donation drives, but fills a real need. Low-income and homeless working parents with small children often rely on childcare services that require them to supply disposable diapers for their children. By supplying diapers for free to emergency food providers, Brady Koch, Chief Programs Officer of Food Bank For New York City can help relieve a major burden on these parents and their families.

Diapers are being collected in-person at Brewer’s 1 Centre Street and West 125th Street Harlem office locations, and have been boosted with a generous late gift from members of the Sherman Creek Business Group, a coalition of merchants and small business owners from Inwood, in northern Manhattan.

In addition, Brewer has invited members of the public to send diapers directly to Food Bank For New York City through the organization’s Amazon.com ‘Wish List’.
