November 21, 2018

Fashion designer B Michael becomes the first black luxury designer to dress an Oscar winner, that happened to be Harlem diva Cicely Tyson.

The dress (above and below) was a two-piece ensemble, fitted sheath gown with bias insert bordered hemline, topped with Demi-Bodice Bolero, with high-collar pattered in 18 pieces and cascading half-train patterned in 52 pieces. Fabricated in vintage Gustav Zumsteg’s Abraham silk (circa 1960’s) silk brocade of pale blue, silver and black.

Ms. Tyson was accessorized with B Micheal Couture silver leather gloves, handbag “East-West” clutch in Italian double-faced wool crepe by Mark-Paige expressly for B Michael Couture, earrings of rare tanzanite and white-diamonds form Helen Yarmak.
