Emerson Collective’s Climate Fair: High Line Hosts Eco-Extravaganza!

September 16, 2024

In celebration of Climate Week NYC, the Climate Science Fair, presented by Emerson Collective, returns to New York City’s High Line.

They return for a second year beginning Saturday, September 21 and running through Monday, September 23, 2024, from 10 AM to 7 PM ET.

As world leaders gather behind closed doors for the United Nations General Assembly and Climate Week NYC, Emerson Collective and 30 partners are gathering on the High Line for all to see, learn, and engage with optimistic climate ideas and solutions from entrepreneurs, nonprofits, scientists and advocates already deploying and making a difference in communities across the country.

“The entrepreneurs featured at the Climate Science Fair are incredible and inspiring,” said Laurene Powell Jobs, founder and president, Emerson Collective. “From designing flexible batteries and making fusion energy a reality, to creating an urban garden movement and conserving nature around the globe, they are using their intellect, imaginations, and grit to improve our everyday lives and tackle the complex puzzle that is climate change piece, by piece. To meet them and to see the tapestry of ideas that is bubbling up from thinkers, doers, and entrepreneurs of every stripe, is to be reminded that in America, ingenuity runs deep.

Free and open to the public, attendees will dive into hands-on experiences that bring the future of climate solutions to life. Imagine crafting the next generation of plastic – a version of what it could have been if nature had created it – or stepping into a creative exploration of fusion energy – where you can simulate the fusion of atoms using everyday materials like kinetic sand. Visitors will also witness the power of AI to predict weather with unprecedented accuracy – enhancing our ability to better prepare for extreme weather. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come to the High Line to experience these innovations, tangibly with the technology and by speaking with the entrepreneurs and scientists themselves, live and in-person.

“This is a science fair, but we’ll see much more than science experiments,” said Gabe Kleinman, Operating Partner, Emerson Collective and Climate Science Fair spokesperson. “Get ready to engage with entrepreneurs reimagining how we live, eat, and power everything today – whether you’re eight years old or in your eighties.”

In its second year, the Climate Science Fair is anchored in four zones representing the biggest opportunities to drive human and planetary health – energy, food, home and nature – allowing us to all live better.

  • Energy: Explore ways to reimage how we all create and use energy.
  • Food: Sample how the lifecycle of our food can improve the quality of our lives.
  • Home: Discover how to make our dwellings and planet more sustainable places to live.
  • Nature: Observe how people are strengthening their relationship with the natural world.

Exhibitors at the Climate Science Fair will feature the work of leading entrepreneurs, scientists and activists in each zone:
