Eleven Hancock dots the “new” Harlem‘s landscape with a cantilevered silhouette by Isaac & Stern and refined limpid interiors from Lemay + Escobar, Architecture.
Lemay + Escobar, Architecture is a joint venture where the two firms worked closely together to achieve the look and feel of sophistication and light-filled aesthetics in each home.
The project is meant to offer a new soft luxury in Harlem and for Harlemites’ living, with the experience of the neighborhood being one of the perks of the condo. A 12-stories building, Eleven Hancock features a low-level open garden terrace that, jutting out to the triangular lot created by the intersection of Hancock Place and 124th St., has such a closeness to the street and to the urban vibrancy of the city that seems to capture Harlem’s vibe from the ground and functions as an open invitation to explore it.
European white oak flooring is used throughout the apartments; Italian Calacatta quartz and Caesarstone countertops and Miele appliance suites, concealed behind skilled millwork, grace the kitchens while industrial-inspired floor-to-ceiling windows are the peak of each residence.
Colombian-born designer Andres Escobar has conceived its interiors by filtering materials and details with care: European white oak flooring is used throughout the apartments; Italian Calacatta quartz and Caesarstone countertops and Miele appliance suites, concealed behind skilled millwork, grace the kitchens while industrial-inspired floor-to-ceiling windows are the peak of each residence.
Some units also boast private rooftop cabanas with amazing views of the neighborhood.
The Faison Firehouse Theater, a little jewel, a decommissioned and renovated firehouse, just seats in front of the building, while a new life science cluster is developing just few streets up, where Janus Property Company is retrofitting a group of old brick factory buildings for tenants such as Harlem Biospace.
Together with these noteworthy neighbors, Eleven Hancock will anchor Harlem’s path to a new chapter in luxury living that still retains the area’s vibrancy and charm of the community.
