An elderly Harlem man was killed after he was struck by a car at the intersection of Lenox Avenue and West 140th Street, the NYPD said.
Police said they responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian struck at that intersection and when they arrived at the scene they observed the 91-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive in the street. EMS transported the victim to Harlem Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The car that struck the man was a silver van going northbound on Lenox Avenue and when the man attempted to cross 140th Street from the west side to the east side, he was struck, police said. NYPD said the 46-year-old driver remained on the scene and there are no arrests. The investigation is ongoing.
Police identified the victim as 91-year-old Robert Stevenson.
