In many ways, the Fall is the most adaptable season when it comes to your wardrobe, and if you are fashion conscious or just want to make sure you are ahead of the curve for once, then you’ll want to know what accessories are in this year.
That way, when coupled with your outfit, the accessories will give your look the added style value you are looking for.
Staying trendy can be tricky, and with every changing of the season comes another chance to follow style gurus and fashionistas in pursuit of a look that pleases you, and perhaps more importantly, those around you who follow fashion religiously.
To help you make the right decisions when it comes to your accessory choices for the Fall, see below a selection of those you should definitely have in your wardrobe.
Personalized Jewelry
When it comes to making a statement AND adhering to the latest fashions, personalized jewelry will do the job on both fronts. Consider getting a classy initial necklace that matches your personal style and helps to say something about you. Customized items of jewelry have been immensely popular of late, with a number of celebrities and high-profile personalities stepping out onto the red carpet with an array of types. Why not join the trend?
Shearling Slides
These are the epitome of cool right now. If you were to pick one fall accessory to invest in, then a pair of shearling slides would be a wise direction to head. These are not only super cute, but they are as comfy as you’d wish and very much the style for a temperature that is no longer summer but is not quite winter. These are snuggly and infinitely elegant, and very versatile.
Mini Bags
We absolutely love these. Mini bags are an excellent playful alternative to the oversized tote trend that has been with us for the best part of 18 months. Perhaps this is fashion’s way of saying that we can now afford to be a little less pedestrian when it comes to our bag choices. Consider a crossbody mini bag for the ultimate in fabulous bag selection, and if your budget permits, you may even venture into the designer range.
Riding Boots
When it comes to daywear for your feet, summer was all about comfort with sandals all the rage, but the Fall has thrown up a new option to consider. Tall boots, or riding boots if you prefer, are incredibly hot right now and perfect for evening wear and not exactly ideal for long city walks. Dark colors are good but consider slightly lighter shades if you really want to push the envelope.
Statement Belts
When choosing your belt, as well as looking to break up your outfit, you should now look to have your belt make a statement of its own. This means you should look for a thick belt, ideally one with additional detailing, and don’t be afraid to really go for it. Most retail outlets, on the high street and online, have great options to consider on this front, so get your hands on one ASAP.
Large Retro Style Sunglasses
The oversized look continues and is now very much focused on accessories. So why not invest in a new pair of shades, preferably square-ish or rectangle in shape, and make them as big as is possible without them being unmanageable. If you want to push this to an even heightened level of cool, then maybe opt for a light-colored tint.
Berets
There was a time when the wearing of berets was reserved only for Parisians and even then only as an ironic gesture. However, in the Fall of 2021, they are now a much sought-after item and one that can be found in many styles and is far more adaptable than you might at first think. This is a chic item that is good for the autumn and works well both in the day and at night.
Silk Scarf
Why not pair that beret with a silk scarf? This pairing would be a great fashion selection and very much in line with the Fall 2021 trend. Silk scarves were popular in the summer but are, in fact, far more suited to the autumn, both in terms of offering genuine protection from the elements and also in terms of the layering you are likely to have in operation during the cooler months.
This is just a selection of the many accessories that are proving popular this season, and you can expect a number of these to still be of use in the winter. That’s the benefit of Fall accessories; they tend to have a longer shelf life than the summer fashions and, as such, will serve you better from a financial perspective.
Remember, when putting together your fall outfit, there’s no need to overuse these accessories; in other words, don’t pair more than two or three of these at once. Be reserved when it comes to the use of trendy items; otherwise, you may end up looking a little like a fashion victim.
