Police are searching for two gun-toting robbers that got away with a huge wad of cash after holding up a barber in East Harlem.
Two men entered a barbershop on the 2000 block of Third Avenue on Saturday, July 23, and showed their guns to a 38-year-old employee of the store, police said. The employee was forced to hand over his iPhone 6, a gold chain, his wedding ring and a whopping $1,500 in cash, police said.
After the robbery the suspects fled the scene and went down East 112 Street on foot, police said. There were no reported injuries, according to police.
Police described both suspected robbers as men in their late 30s with a dark completion, short black hair and medium build (see photos above).
Anyone with information about the suspected robbers is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and entering TIP577. All tips are confidential.
