Police are asking the public to help identify two men who committed a robbery in East Harlem on Tuesday morning.
The police released a video showing two men approach another man on the 100 block of East 106 Street around 4:30 a.m. One of the alleged robbers appears to take an object resembling a cell phone out of a plastic bag and walks up to the victim. Then the video shows the two robbers pushing the victim to the ground, rolling him onto his stomach and taking something out of his back pocket. Police said that the two robbed the man of $500 cash.
At the end of the video the victim is shown lying face-down in the street, but police did not say that the man was injured during the robbery.
Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and entering TIP577. All tips are confidential.
