This photo-montage was taken on May 16th, 2012 by organizer Carolyn Butts at African Voices and SAVAE, Inc., from the A Conversation with Artists: An Artistic Tribute to Gordon Parks in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Gordon Parks.I moderated the conversation with the artists Fikisha Cumbo, Mel Wright, Lisa Russell, Ocean Morriset, Howard Moss, Mireille Liong-A-Kong, Nathan Yungerberg, Jamel Shabazz, Mirlande Jean-Gilles and Lolita Parker, Jr., pictured (I’m out of the frame cracking the joke to the right of the artists).
The exhibition at the at the 1199SEIU gallery Bread & Roses Cultural Project, 310 West 43rd Street (bet., 8th and 9th Avenues) in NYC, and ends on May 30, 2012.
