On Friday, November 30, 2018, Washington Heights, NY Councilman Mark Levine encourages Harlemites and New Yorkers to receive their flu shots.
The CDC recommends annual flu immunizations for all individuals six months and older.
Although each flu season is unpredictable, the flu immunization offers the best protection against the flu virus. Flu shots are available at Walgreens pharmacies from Harlem to Hollis during pharmacy hours seven days a week, no appointment needed, and are covered by most insurance plans with a $0 copay for customers.
In 2018, Walgreens and the United Nations Foundation kicked off the sixth straight year of the Get a Shot. Give a Shot. campaign. For every flu shot or other vaccination administered at Walgreens pharmacies or Healthcare Clinics, Walgreens will donate the value of a lifesaving vaccine through the United Nations Foundation’s Shot@Life campaign.
A Walgreens pharmacist was available onsite to discuss this year’s flu season, trends, and answer frequently asked questions about flu season and the flu vaccine.
