Today, HCA proudly hosted the family and friends of the late, great Dr. John Lawrence Sullivan (“Mike”) Holloman, Jr. – an early and ardent advocate for medical equity.
While his private practice included a number of celebrities, from John Coltrane to Sugar Ray Robinson, he was perhaps best known for his role as the de facto medical arm of Dr King’s civil rights movement in the march to Selma, some 50 years ago.
A program of testimonials at Harlem Hospital’s elegant pavillion offered new insights into both the personal and professional sides of this great American.
Especially enjoyable was the broad selection of original photographs of the doctor with a host of luminaries, including the Clintons and the Dali Lama.
