African Health Now held its “Gift of Life” inaugural benefit hosted by the organizations Board of Directors. n and took place at Chelsea Piers’ Sunset Terrace on Tuesday, October 20, 2015.
The cocktail benefit was attended by a diverse group of supporters including Bevy Smith, tv and radio personality, Tai Beauchamp, host of TLC’s “What to Wear”, H.E. Kehinde Wiley, contemporary artists, Adepero Oduye, critically-acclaimed actress, and Somi, International singer/songwriter along with other notables.
Guest mixed and mingled over passed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails with music by celebrity DJ D-Nice. A video presentation took place and awards were presented to African artists of the 21st century Wangechi Mutu who received the Humanitarian award, award-winning marketing executive for Apple/I-Tunes Bozoma Saint John received the Leadership Award and International podiatric surgeon Dr. Samuel F. Quartey, DPM, PC was presented with the Health Advocate award.
