Today, we clicked on the Facebook page for Citi Bikes Events And Demonstrations Map, where the slogan reads “Citi Bike has something around every corner,” after clicking on the map we realized that there was not one Citi Bike on any corner in Harlem!
Additionally, there were no events, demonstrations or bikes on the map from midtown, from 72nd Street and above.
On the website it reads:
The Citi Bikes system, operated by NYC Bike Share features thousands of bikes at hundreds of stations around New York. Citi Bikes are available 24/7, 365 days a year. Station locations are based on population and transit needs, and were selected through a participatory public input process.
I guess Harlem does not have the “population and transit needs” and well have to keep our eyes open for their next “participatory public input process”.
