Celebrating Immigrant Contributions: The Launch Of The “New York Proud” Campaign

On August 30, 2024, the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) will unveil the “New York Proud” campaign, a vibrant public art initiative.

A public art initiative dedicated to celebrating the rich contributions.

Including stories of immigrants throughout New York City.

This launch coincides with Labor Day weekend and aims to highlight the personal journeys of immigrant New Yorkers through a striking photo series.

A Citywide Art Installation

The campaign features over 200 portraits displayed across subway platforms and public spaces, bringing visibility to the diverse experiences of immigrants in the city.

In collaboration with Photoville, the NYIC will also present a large-scale pop-up exhibition in Times Square, with additional locations in Brooklyn (co-presented by Downtown Brooklyn Partnership) and Queens, running throughout September and October.

  • Launch Date: Friday, August 30, 12 p.m. (Google says 30 minutes from Harlem)
  • Location: 44th – 45th Street Broadway Pedestrian Plaza, Times Square, NYC
