Carver Federal Savings Bank, in collaboration with The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, has announced the 2023 Minority Women-Owned Business Pitch Competition.
Building on the success of last year’s competition, this year’s event doubles the number of winners and prize amounts. Four minority women business owners stand a chance to receive $10,000 grants each.
Designed in response to climate change’s unequal impact on communities of color, the competition invites women entrepreneurs above 18, based in the Greater New York Area, to submit applications outlining their business and plans for the grant. Submissions are open until September 21, 2023.
The grants can be utilized for purchasing equipment, technology, or operational systems to boost energy efficiency. Winners will not only receive the grant but also gain access to Carver’s and Chamber’s executive teams for guidance, resources, and discussions on strategy. Mastercard, the sponsor, offers additional technical support.
The initiative aims to empower women-owned businesses, particularly those facing financial barriers, to enhance their environmental sustainability.
A total of $40,000 will be divided among four winners, each receiving $10,000. The initiative aims to empower women-owned businesses, particularly those facing financial barriers, to enhance their environmental sustainability.
Winners will be announced in October, and grants will be awarded in November. To learn more, visit www.carverbank.com/Competition or contact Carverapplications@carverbank.com.
