The NY Post reports that opportunistic scavengers have stolen more than $35,000 in cash, jewelry and clothes left behind by evacuees of Thursday’s deadly Harlem fire, according to police sources.
Officials ordered 771 St. Nicholas Avenue vacated while they inspect for structural damage following the deadly blaze at neighboring 773 St. Nicholas Avenue, which left one firefighter dead.
