Black Women Film Network Honors Mikki Taylor, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Naturi Naughton & More

kay graham1The Black Women Film Network (BWFN) is proud to announce the 2016 “Untold Stories Awards” Luncheon honorees:

  • Mikki Taylor – Editor-at-Large, ESSENCE
  • Tisha Campbell-Martin – Actress/Recording Artist
  • Naturi Naughton – Actress, “POWER”
  • Fran Burst-Terranella – Director/Producer
These women have demonstrated excellence in their careers in film, television and the arts and will be celebrated on Friday, March 11 at 11:00AM at the Intercontinental Buckhead (3315 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30326) as part of the Black Women Film Summit.
“We are excited about this year’s Untold Stories honorees and look forward to being inspired by these amazing individuals,” said BWFN Board Chair Donald Woodard. “The Untold Stories Luncheon is just one of the many opportunities at the Black Women Film Summit that allows aspiring professionals to connect with seasoned artists and insiders. Our program is designed to further the mission of increasing the number of women of color in the film and television industries.”
Scholarships for students entering film and television will also be awarded during the luncheon.
The Black Women Film Summit takes place March 10-12, 2016 in Atlanta. In addition to the luncheon, this three-day event features the annual Black Women Film Festival (BWFF), Book Festival and panel discussions.
The Summit opens Thursday, March 10 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM with a networking reception at Boogalou Restaurant & Lounge (239 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Atlanta GA 30308) and closes Saturday, March 12 with a full day of screenings, panels and an awards ceremony at Atlanta Technical College(1560 Metropolitan Pkwy SW, Atlanta GA 30310).
