Barbershop Books Presents Fresh Fade Comedy Fundraiser 2017 In Harlem

Want to support early childhood literacy while having a few laughs? Barbershop Books presents Fresh Fade Comedy fundraiser hosted by founder Alvin Irby in Harlem.

Alvin Irby 2015 StandUP NBC national finalist and founder of Barbershop Books
Kenny Williams from BET Comicview and Showtime at the Apollo

Featuring:
Jon Laster from HBO and winner of the 2013 StandUp NBC competition
Kerry Coddett from MTV, Comedy Central, and founder of NYC’s Kawanza Krawl
Petey Deabreau from truTV

The night will include big laughs, a free buffet and the chance to make a difference, along with a cash bar with the night’s signature drink – Fresh Fade Lemonade.

Children from low-income families have limited access to books while outside of school, and Barbershop Books combats this issue by creating child-friendly reading spaces in barbershops. All ticket purchase will help put fun children’s books in NYC barbershops. Barbershop Books won the National Book Foundation’s 2017 Innovations in Reading Prize.
