Alec Baldwin Is Honored At The Apollo Theater In Harlem

June 26, 2017

Former president Bill Clinton thrilled the crowd at the Apollo Theater on Sunday night when he made a surprise appearance at a Spike TV tribute for Alec Baldwin.

The former commander in chief spoke of how the 30 Rock star attended George Washington University for two years and ran for student-body president.

“Then (he) came back home to New York, where he followed the then-classic path, from politics into soap operas . . . Now we know it works the other way round,” Clinton said, taking a swipe at the current president.

He also praised the Glengarry Glen Ross actor for his philanthropic causes.

“I think I’ve figured out what has made him both a great actor and a great person: He has a genuine interest in other people,” he concluded. “When you look at the sweep of his career, you see a man with enormous talent and a heart just as big.”

An impressive array of stars also came out to show their love for the 59-year-old actor, including Robert De Niro; Julianne Moore (looking chic in Givenchy); and 30 Rock costars Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, and Jack McBrayer.

Two of Baldwin’s brothers, Daniel and Billy, also came, but noticeably missing was ardent Trump supporter Stephen Baldwin, who has often clashed with his big brother over politics.

Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria, brought out the couple’s adorable daughter, Carmen, 3. Earlier on the carpet, the yoga maven in Carmen Marc Valvo (“I love it, but I can’t bend over in it!”) said the thing she loves most about her hubby of five years is that “he makes me laugh.”

And the one thing that he does that drives her crazy?

“He complains too much!” she exclaimed. “I tell him off all the time.”
