Bystander In Harlem Hospital Shot Outside Gas Station

A man is facing charges in connection with an Inwood street fight that left a bystander shot and another man slashed in the back of the head, an NYPD spokesman told source.

Alfredo Giron, 26, has been charged with attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment and criminal weapons and drug possession, police told source. Giron was involved in a fight that started inside an Inwood gas station early Saturday morning, police said.

The fight broke out at a BP gas station on Sherman Avenue and Isham street around 4:20 a.m. Saturday, an NYPD spokesman told source. Three men started arguing when one man cut two others in line at the gas station, police said.

The argument continued out into the street, where it escalated to violence, an NYPD spokesman told source. During the fight, gunshots were fired, police said. A man working in a nearby food cart was struck in the foot by a stray bullet, police told source.

The gunshot victim was taken to Harlem Hospital for treatment.

Another man, 26, was slashed in the back of the head during the street fight, an NYPD spokesman told source. He was taken to St. Barnabas hospital for treatment, police said.

A firearm was recovered at the scene of the crime, police said.


Giron was arrested around 8:20 p.m. Saturday night, according to court records. He’s currently in custody and is due in court Monday, according to the records.
