Some schools in New York City may close when a major blizzard is expected to dump up to two feet of snow on New York City on Monday night and into Tuesday, a storm forecasters expect will be the worst of the year.
Patch will be keeping an eye on closings in Harlem and will be updating this post throughout the day and night with the latest information.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and the Department of Education announced that public schools will be closed on Tuesday.
Public schools were closed when Winter Storm Niko hit the city in February 2017, prompting de Blasio to go on the defense and claim that New York City has not become “a city of wimps.”
Here’s which Harlem schools have announced closings so far, according to the schools and local media reports:
- All Harlem public schools.
