Last week, applications were filed for a beautiful four-story, 18,987-square-foot commercial building at the old Lenox Lounge location at 286 Lenox Avenue, located between West 124th and 125th streets in Harlem, New York. A rendering of the project has since surfaced, courtesy of Harlem+Bespoke. Staten Island-based Gambino+LaPorta Architecture is behind the design. There plan includes retail space on the ground floor and office space on the second, third, and fourth floors. The rendering indicates Sephora Boutique, a French cosmetic company, may set up shop in the building, although nothing has been confirmed. An anonymous Midtown East-based LLC is the property owner.
A two-story building that was the Lenox Lounge must first be demolished.
