The Los Angeles Times and Hoy’s 2016 Latinos de Hoy Awards took place last night Saturday, October 9, 2016, at the prestigious Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Jaina Lee Ortiz, actress and star of FOX’s “Rosewood,” hosted the annual achievement ceremony, which was held as the culmination of National Hispanic Heritage Month. The evening kicked-off with red carpet arrivals followed by the awards show and a post-awards party.
Presenters included Allen Maldonado, Alejandra Espinoza, Antonio Jaramillo, Bianca Marroquin, Bricia Lopez, Carmen Carrera, Chrissie Fit, Cynthia Rivas, Jonathan Fernandez, Justina Machado, Luis Coronel, Marco Antonio Regil, Martin Castro, Miguelito, Otmara Marrero, and Tracy Perez. Special performances by A.B. Quintanilla & Elektrokumbia, Ozomatli, Daniel Sobrino, Kap G and Alondra Santos were featured throughout the event.
The Latinos de Hoy Awards is a bilingual/bicultural event celebrating Latino contributions to American culture. Awards in a variety of categories honor those who exemplify leadership and service, setting an example for their peers and the next generation. It is the only event celebrating Latinos and the vibrant and diverse voices in a shared culture that is produced by a major newspaper group in the U.S.

Latinos de Hoy is an extension of The Times and Hoy’s shared mission to engage, inform and support community involvement among those readers.
