Harlem Council Member Mark Levine’s 3rd Annual Back-to-School Block Party

mark levine 2Council Member Mark Levine (District 7) will host the Third Annual Back-to-School Block Party at 141st Street (between Hamilton Place and Amsterdam Avenue) on Thursday, August 25th, 2016 from 5 – 8 P.M.
The block party will offer a number of exciting events and activities for children of all ages, such as a fire truck, bounce house, balloon twister, face painting, take-home art-making activities, and performances by local organizations, to name a few.

Most importantly, the event will also feature educational resources and free giveaways to children of all ages, with Council Member Levine distributing book bags and other necessary back-to-school items along with special items such as Sugar Hill Children’s Museum tickets, book store gift cards and more.

Parents will also have the opportunity to learn about important educational resources at the event such as a school directory, a listing of available after school programs, fresh food options and educational activities for the whole family to enjoy throughout the school year.

Among the attendees of the event are Corbin Hill Food Project, Hamilton Grange Public Library, the Boys and Girls Club of Harlem, Children’s Museum of Manhattan, to name a few, as well as community residents, local organizations and elected officials.
