In his most personal project to date, Michael K. Williams explores underground economies from Harlem to Harare.
In meeting those willing to risk it all just to get by – society’s outcasts, carjackers in NJ, poachers in South Africa, stick-up boys in Brooklyn, heroin-addicted shoplifters in London, Harlem rappers Cam’Ron, Juelz Santana, A$AP Rocky and co-founder of A$AP Mob, A$ap Yams died from it – he shares his own experiences with addiction, crime and poverty.
This week’s episode features a slice of opioid addiction in America. Michael K. Williams meets with various users and dealers of “Lean” (Lil Wayne calls it “Sizzurp”) a powerful opioid-based cough syrup that has become a dangerous pop culture sensation in the U.S.
Below is one clip from the episode for you to share with your readers where Soulja Boy tells us why he relies on lean for inspiration.
