On Tuesday, July 19, 2016, 150 young athletes participated in the Police Athletic League’s Track & Field Championships.
PAL girls and boys in fifth through eighth grades came out to the New Balance Track and Field Center, 216 Fort Washington Ave, New York, NY from PAL centers across the city.
Children competed in Olympic-style events such as Standing Long Jump, 55-Meter Dash and a 4 x 100-Meter Relay.
New York City’s Police Athletic League is the first and finest civilian-run PAL in the country. Founded in 1914, PAL has served the city’s young people for over 100 years. PAL provides recreational, educational, cultural and social activities to 35,000 boys and girls annually. It is also the city’s largest, independent, nonprofit youth organization.
