HW Pick: Harlem Fave Carl Thomas Leads Summer Soul Jam At Resorts World Casino NYC

carl-thomas-02082011Resorts World Casino New York City (RWNY) will host the Summer Soul Jam on Friday, June 24 at 8 p.m. at the Central Park event space.

This year’s Summer Soul Jam will feature Carl Thomas, Hi-Five, Sunshine Anderson, Intro, Rude Boys and many others. Carl Thomas is an R&B singer signed to Verve Music Group. He released a new album in 2011 entitled Conquer. The first single was “Don’t Kiss Me,” which featured Snoop Dogg and was written and produced by Rico Love. He was on the album Harlem World featuring Nas, with the cut You Made Me produced by Kanye West in 2014.

Stop by the casino and you will also get to chance to see some Summer Soul from Hi-Five! An American R&B quintet based in Texas, Hi-Five hit number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 in the early 1990s with “I Like the Way.” The band formed in 1989 and consisted of the late Tony Thompson, Roderick Clark, Marcus Sanders, Russel Neal, and Toriano Easley. Teasley was later replaced by Treston Irby.

The night will feature performances by Sunshine Anderson, Intro and Rude Boys. Sunshine Anderson is a female American R&B and soul singer and songwriter who released her third solo album, The Sun Shines Again, in 2010 on Verve Forecast Records. Brooklyn-based R&B group Intro consists of members Clinton Wike, Jeff Sanders and Eric Pruitt.
